Thanks so much for coming by to check out Episode 155 of The New Family Podcast where we talk about how to raise girls with strong character and self-assurance.
Today school-age kids use social media likes and followers to gauge their self-worth. This isn’t easy for anyone but it seems that girls face the most online scrutiny of all. For this episode of the podcast, I’m joined by author and educator Lindsay Sealey. Lindsay has recently released her book Growing Strong Girls: Practical Tools to Cultivate Connection in the Preteen Years. She helps us not only better understand what it’s like to be a girl today, but also to equip us as parents, teachers, aunts, uncles and mentors to girls to help them through this tumultuous but also very rich time in their development.

What people will get out of reading Growing Strong Girls
“I hope parents gain a sense of self-confidence and self-belief that they are making a difference. They do matter and despite the eye-rolling that they might experience, girls really do need them. And I think I really want them to know that I understand that growing a strong girl takes time and consistent effort. It’s really challenging and at times tiring, but it’s so worth. I truly believe that strong girls become strong women.”
