Greg Van Tighem

Greg is a year-round cyclist who uses a bike with five-inch wheels. Greg’s younger brother has PTSD and used to be 400 pounds. He asked Greg if he would do the Ride with him and help him train. Their dad died of leukemia in 1992 and was treated at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. Their mom died of lymphoma in 2015. Greg and his brother are fire chiefs and they hope to start a team of fire chiefs with people from Alberta and BC, together doing the Ride in Alberta. The 2017 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Evraz raised $6.7 million for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
